Robert Smith - VP of Operations

Robert Smith is the Vice President of Operations at Preferred Electric and his primary focus is in public relations and business development. Robert supervises our Project Management team and the profits generated from the contracts they manage. Robert maintains relationships with many of our clients Robert has been with PECI since 1995 and has 32 years of management experience. Beginning as a Project Manager at PECI and graduating to VP of Operations, Robert is a great asset to the team with his extensive knowledge in electrical systems and also his ability to meet the customer's needs project to project. He has completed the Green Certification Program and has served the NJATC as a contractor representative.

Angela Schaeffer - Office Manager

Angela Schaeffer is the executive manager over the administrative functions of Preferred Electric Co., Inc. Her responsibilities include general accounting, treasury, audit, bonding, business insurance, payroll, human resources, technology and information systems. Angela and her team work with the management team as well as the operations department to ensure that job costing and financial reporting is accurate. She has been with PECI since March 2006 and she brings extensive experience in the administrative functions from her previous positions in the construction industry.

Gerald Wilkinson - Chief Estimator

Gerald Wilkinson is the Chief Electrical Estimator that supervises the development and delivery of all the job bidding and budget pricing provided to Preferred Electric Co., Inc. clients. He has been with PECI since 2002 and he is currently managing the Estimating Team . Part of his management duties include the review of bids, attending pre-bid meetings with contractors, reviewing drawings and specifications on projects. He also provides workflow reporting and job forecast reporting to the Company Officers. He works closely with the operations department to provide quality, accurate and timely pricing to PECI clients for projects of all sizes ranging from small contracts to multi- million dollar projects. Gerald joined the IBEW as a member in 1989 and he’s served other electrical contractors in the capacities of journeyman electrician, estimator and project manager. His experience during this time included responsibility for a team of 100 electricians and estimating $20 million in projects a year. Mr. Wilkinson has attended classes at ITT Institute for Electrical Construction.
